Andrew T. Vellela, Esq.

Andrew T. Vellela, Esq. is an Associate Attorney at Berlin Patten Ebling in the Firm’s Sarasota office. His practice focuses on real estate matters, where he advises clients through complex transactions and works to protect their interests from contract to closing. Drawing on his background in commercial litigation, Andrew brings a strategic and risk-focused perspective to every deal, helping clients anticipate and avoid potential disputes before they arise.

Originally from Pennsylvania and raised in Florida, Andrew earned his B.S. from the University of Central Florida and later attended Marquette University Law School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he received his J.D. Upon graduation, Andrew spent his first year as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Brittany C. Grayson at the Milwaukee Circuit Court.

After being admitted to the Florida and Wisconsin Bars, Andrew practiced commercial litigation, representing clients in a broad range of disputes including real estate litigation, title and closing malpractice, breach of contract claims, and insurance-related matters. He has since transitioned his practice to residential and commercial real estate transactions, where he applies the analytical and risk-focused skills developed in litigation to guide clients through purchase and sale agreements, commercial leasing, title examination, and closings. This background gives Andrew a distinctive perspective on transactional risk — allowing him to structure deals and draft documents with an eye toward protecting his clients well beyond the closing table.

Andrew is also an active member of the local community and is committed to giving back through service and involvement. Outside of his legal practice, he enjoys cooking, staying active at the gym and outdoors, and spending quality time with family and friends.
