Matthew B. Pryor, Esq.

Matt Pryor is an estate planning and probate attorney at Berlin Patten Ebling, PLLC. His practice focuses on probate and trust administration, preparation of wills and trusts, and advising closely held businesses, with substantial experience negotiating contracts and structuring ownership and succession plans. His work is driven by a practical focus: help clients protect assets, reduce conflict, and make informed decisions to meet both personal and professional goals.

Before joining the firm, Matt practiced with an established Manatee County firm handling complex probate and trust litigation. That litigation background informs his approach to planning and administration, with an emphasis on drafting documents that anticipate disputes and avoid unnecessary cost and delay.

Matt also spent several years in-house at a large, privately owned Florida construction company, reporting directly to the General Counsel. Working inside a multigenerational corporation gave him a broad, operational view of legal risk. His responsibilities included managing risk in large-scale contract negotiations, drafting formation and governance documents for multiple corporate subsidiaries, and coordinating with outside counsel on insurance, compliance, and bankruptcy matters.

While attending the University of Miami School of Law, Matt was an active member of the Tax Law Society and volunteered as a tax preparer through the IRS VITA program. He earned top honors in Contracts and Trusts & Estates. As an undergraduate at Florida State University, he studied accounting and finance, providing a foundation for his work with estates, trusts, and closely held businesses.

Community involvement remains a priority. Following Hurricanes Helene and Milton, Matt volunteered with World Central Kitchen, preparing and delivering free meals to affected Gulf Coast communities on an industrial scale. Outside the office, he spends time with his wife and young daughter, runs the dogs, plays golf, cooks for friends, and continues restoring his 100-year-old craftsman home in the Kenwood neighborhood.
