Ben is an attorney at Berlin Patten Ebling, PLLC with a deep entrepreneurial streak, a passion for deal-making, and a firm grasp of the needs of both residential and commercial real estate clients. He represents a variety of clients in transactional matters with a focus on acquisition and sale of real estate, commercial and residential leasing, ground-up development negotiations, entity formation, and commercial transactions.
Born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico (so he knows the best place in town for enchiladas), he relocated to Sarasota immediately after law school and took a deep dive into commercial real estate through a role as Corporate Counsel for a highly active, real estate-driven family office where he handled complex acquisition and sale transactions, commercial leasing, 1031 exchanges, and a wide range of commercial agreements.
Ben was drawn to Sarasota for its vibrant arts and music offerings, as well as its thriving business and real estate ecosystem, and he is active in Florida arts, entrepreneurship and real estate investing communities. Drawing from a business background in real estate investing and management, Ben frequently advises clients on the practical and strategic implications of operating companies as well as purchasing, owning, and managing real estate, working closely with clients to understand their business and real estate goals and craft effective legal strategies through an insightful, client-focused approach.
Ben received his Bachelors of Arts with Honors from Liberty University in 2011, and his Juris Doctorate from Villanova University School of Law in 2014, and has been a member of the Florida Bar since 2014. When he’s not working or brainstorming business ideas with colleagues, Ben likes to spend his time watching F1 and other racing, going to concerts, playing music, and unwinding at the beach with family.
